RAN Engineer

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• RAN Technologies & Planning for 2G, 3G, 4G & 5G
• Radio Planning Tool Operations with Project Creation, Audit, Update & Various module operations & reporting.
• Model Calibration on Planning Tool for Standard Okumura Hata model, MYRIAD & Volcano Models for various bands.
• CW Data Collection, Validation & Analysis for the Received Signal Level (RSL) in an AoI or a Particular Clutter area for Model Calibration in the planning tool.

RAN Network Planning Activities:

• Greenfield Planning to fulfill the desired objectives with optimum BoQ for AoI.
• Coverage, Capacity Site Planning & Small Cell network design and traffic offloading
• High-level estimation of the number of new sites, capacity upgrades
• Short Term Planning – Monthly Coverage & Capacity Assessment based on Area, Population, Users, Throughput, Utilization, and available capacity for all the technologies
• Long-Term Planning – AOP Planning which includes Town and other AOI improvements in sync with the annual business forecast & expansion.
• Annual/Monthly Planning of RF coverage prediction, population, and Geographical Coverage %, Quarterly Review of Competitor Coverage, Network Design including RF coverage predictions for multiple scenarios.
• RAN Cell Design Data & Parameter Planning (PCI Planning, RSI Planning, Scrambling Code planning, Frequency planning & Neighbour planning for all technology)
• Monte Carlo Simulations based on MIMO, Existing Network Traffic, Multi-Technology Terminal Settings for different service classes and including (SINR, CINR simulation, Throughput & RSRQ for relevant technology).
• Coverage Shaping & Smoothening as per requirement.
• Spectrum Reforming based on the network by optimum spectrum utilization of current spectrum allocation.
• Dimensioning for a special event: Number of COW/NOW, upgrade list baseband, sector, carriers, and RF power and parameter recommendations
• Various Compliance fulfilments as per the regulatory & relevant authorities.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION

Essential:

• Technologies- 2G, 3G, 4G & 5G, Expert Knowledge of Planning Tools & Various Model Calibration, RAN Planning, and other relevant planning & optimization related activities as per section – III.
• 7 – 10 years experience required.

Academic Criteria:

• Technologies: GSM , UMTS , LTE & Volte
• Equipment – Ericsson and Huawei
• B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics & Communication Engineering or relevant equivalent.
