TEOCO and START expand network planning and optimization partnership for Russia and CIS
FAIRFAX, VA., USA — August 4, 2015 — TEOCO, the leading provider of assurance, analytics and optimization solutions to communications service providers (CSPs), and START, a leading independent system integrator and software developer in the CIS telecoms market, today announced the expansion of their partnership agreement for Russia and the CIS countries to include the latest TEOCO network planning and optimization products.
“Mobile operators in Russia and the CIS region are always interested in the latest technologies and solutions available to maximize the performance of their mobile networks,” said Fedor Yaminsky, START CEO. “TEOCO is a long-term strategic partner for START and we’re excited to expand our agreement to cover its latest products and services. We’re confident that TEOCO’s new solutions will be popular among our operator customers and deliver practical, commercial and technology benefits to their businesses.”
“For over eight years, START has been our key partner for supplying mobile network planning products to the Russian and CIS region, and we look forward to working together closely to roll out the latest TEOCO solutions in this important market,” said Ken Parkinson, VP Sales Europe at TEOCO.
The latest range of TEOCO planning tools features updated versions of the ASSET and CONNECT products, as well as entirely new ones such as Velox, a small cell planning solution.
The new version of ASSET features enhanced LTE capabilities to support better voice and data services. These include VoLTE network modelling plus planning for next-generation networks in upcoming years.
To manage the ever-increasing demand for data access from subscribers, operators are increasingly incorporating small cells into their network design and planning. TEOCO has therefore improved the small cell planning capabilities of ASSET by adding Velox, a new small cell planning module that incorporates backhaul and radio planning into operators’ macro network planning models.
Another new module, ASSET Geo, brings geo-located traffic and performance maps directly to ASSET users. In addition, ASSET now includes enhanced integration, both with other TEOCO products and third party solutions as well. This, along with ASSET’s support for all radio technologies – including Wi-Fi – makes ASSET a complete solution for planning all parts of an operator’s radio network. It also fully connects to the wider OSS/BSS eco-system.
Among the new features added to CONNECT is a unique function for more accurate small cell backhaul planning. CONNECT’s “Site backhaul ranking” allows operators to evaluate a large number of potential small cell locations in terms of their backhaul connectivity. It assesses each location for its suitability to accept a Line-Of-Sight (LOS), non-LOS or wired backhaul connection to the existing network. Small cell planners and RF planning tools can use this information to make better, more informed decisions about where to locate small cells and how to connect them to the macro network.
